The Mayor of Wigan’s Civic Tour
Mayor of Wigan’s Civic Tour
What’s the collective noun for a group of Mayor’s? I don’t think there is one but Googling it I see the then Mayor of Salford in May 2010 suggested a Magnificence of Mayors.
The chain of office worn by the Mayor is to signify his or her position - so on a humorous note, a group of Mayors could possibly be referred to affectionately as "a Chain Gang".
I’ve no idea but if anyone has; answers on a postcard please!
Whatever All Gates Brewery was really pleased to host no less than 12 Mayors and Lady Mayors from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and Lancashire Authority at the Brewery on 8th April 2011.
The visit formed part of The Mayor of Wigan’s Civic Tour and formed part of a fact finding day in Wigan at local businesses. The visit was preceded by a visit to the adjacent Parish Church and photo session and then afterwards the Group travelled to the Heinz Factory in Wigan.
The Group were given a brief tour and explanation of the brewery and the brewing process followed by a ‘sampling’ session in the Hospitality Bar.
All the Mayors seemed to really enjoy the visit and thanks go to Mrs Trish Hill from the Office of the Mayor in Wigan for organising the visit.
Thanks.
Photo’s of the visit...
