NUNEATON, Conference North, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 14, 2009

Cask gravity, Nottingham 09. Phew. Back in the quality tent again. Headless pale yellow with a 3mm halo. Measured it. Arresting fresh aroma of pig’s arse, nettles, cat piss, barnyard. Big sting of lean lemony hop follows. Afters creamy, corn-like and evocative of Pickled Onion Monster Munch, although I’m pretty sure they’re not an ingredient. Lemony, fresh, punching. Allusions of elderflower, if you’re looking. Pigshit and flowers. Just got a weakness for this kind of lean, hopped up Lancastrian/Yorkshire pale ale. Must be my heritage. Vanilla and crushed cashews to ease the hop pill down. Winner, amongst a marquee of them.

Clean pale gold. No head what so ever. Way to go Junction. First day and already the beers are struggling. Laughable. Excellent bright crisp hoppy nose. Really fruity and floral. Almost identical in the flavour. Just a little thin and whimpish in the finish. Could do with just a touch more body and certainly some bittering hops. Just a touch mind. Other than that, a glorious summer session ale. Great stuff.

Manchester, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - JUN 22, 2009

Guest at the Friendship, Fallowfield. Pale golden colour with lasting white head. Very attractive to look at. Aroma was hoppy citrus (possibly Challenger) and a malty sweetness. Strong grapefruit flavour with a slight sweetness leading to a decent bitter finish. The lightness of the palate makes it an ideal summer beer.

AllGates Brewery has launched a new website

AllGates & PaulDesigns working together to create a new website for the brewery and its pubs.

AllGates Brewery launches new website

Developed around a local theme the new website brings together the Brewery and its beers with its pubs. It features four main sections: The Beers, The Brewery, The Pubs and The Community section.

The Beers focuses on the beers in the AllGates range and includes information and detailed tasting notes on each beer in the range.

The Brewery focuses on the history and background to the development of AllGates; it's people and includes a gallery of photographs.

The Pubs provides detailed information on the six AllGates 'locals'. Separately there are detailed sections on awards the Brewery has received, brewery tour details and an online 'shop'.

However David Mayhall one of the AllGates Directors is particularly excited about 'The Community' section of the website. "This section will allow our customers to interact with the brewery and our pubs through various social media and via Twitter and a Brewers Blog it is the intention to bring the Brewery closer to the people it serves. A separate What's Brewing section will also be updated daily showing which beer is been brewed each day."

David further commented, 'The website is the result of a close working relationship with Paul Newton of PaulDesigns.co.uk, over the past two months or so and we think he has done a tremendous job in redesigning our website and bringing us into the social networking age' and has far exceeded our expectations.
