A MESSAGE FROM ALLGATES
Along with my co-director Ian Thorpe and a team of eight staff I run AllGates brewery in Wigan. AllGates has been in operation since 2006. We’re located right in the heart of Wigan, close to the Parish Church in a fully restored 19th Century Grade 2 Listed, tower brewery.
Although our operation is only very modest – a five barrel brew length – our beers have already won several awards. We also operate eight pubs in the area which serve a wide range of our real ales plus guest ales from other micro breweries, as we actively encourage beer swaps with other breweries.
At the brewery we also offer tours. These are available daily; on a pre-booked basis and comprise a guided tour, then a pint, (or two or three) in the brewery's own bar, and a traditional Wigan 'Pie & Pea' Supper in our Brewery Tap, the nearby multi award winning Anvil Pub in Dorning Street.
