A MESSAGE FROM ALLGATES
Along with my co-director Ian Thorpe and a team of seven staff I run AllGates brewery in Wigan. AllGates has been in operation in Wigan Town Centre since August 2006. We’re located right in the centre of Wigan, close to the Parish Church and operate from a fully restored 19th Century Grade 2 Listed, tower brewery.
Although our operation is only very modest – a five barrel brew length – our beers have already won several awards. We also operate six pubs in the local area which stock a wide range of real ales from AllGates and from other regional and micro breweries across the country, as we actively encourage beer swaps with similar companies.
At the brewery we also offer tours. These are available daily; on a pre-booked basis and comprise a guided tour of the brewery, then a pint, (or two or three) in the brewery's own bar, followed by a traditional Wigan 'Pie & Pea' Supper in our Brewery Tap, the nearby multi award winning Anvil Pub in Dorning Street.
